5 Ways To Shield Your Skin This Winter
It's that time of year, guys. For a lot of us, the sun has packed up and gone away, leaving us with cold winds and freezing temperatures. If you're living in a cold clime this season, you'll know that it's not kind too kind on the skin.
But don't worry - Grass-fields is here, and we have all the tips to make sure you keep that gorgeous glow even if the weather outside is frightful!
Here are our tips for shielding your skin during winter:
Don't have overly hot showers
We get it. When it's freezing cold all around, there's nothing like the warm embrace of the shower. Its our safe space, we can be anything we want to in there. A singer perhaps - though maybe not a very good one! When winter hits, you want to spend even more time in there. But don't! Hear us out. Having overly hot, long showers can dry out your skin by stripping it of the essential oils it needs to stay naturally moisturised. Dial it down to warm and keep the natural oil goodness.
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise
We know this goes without saying. Those natural oils are not enough to keep our skin soft, supple and well hydrated. Moisturising around the year, whatever weather, is obviously really important - we know we don't need to tell you that - but knowing the right moisturiser to use to protect against harsh weather is super important. We suggest some shea butter or moisturiser infused with it. Or pick out something which has Vitamin C in it.
Get plenty of Vitamin D
Speaking about vitamins, Vitamin D is an essential for your skin. You know how it is. If you're blessed with melanin, you know it's hard enough to get enough Vitamin D in normal conditions, let alone during the thick of winter! Make you take in plenty during the cold months. You could try vitamin supplements, or if you're not keen on popping some pills, seek out salmon, cheese, and mushrooms that are chock full of the stuff.
Keep it under wraps
Hey, you know here at Grass-fields were all about flaunting what the good lord gave you. In winter though, it might be best to keep those assets under wraps to ensure you don't get a nasty chill! Drink plenty of fluids
